The B.Cavalli brand was born in 1949 from the idea of Bruno Cavalli who 3 years earlier had started his own handmade footwear production business. The company contributed to the development of the footwear hub in Bologna, where other of the world's most famous names in the sector also sprang up and operated. The notoriety of the polo was the subject, in 1959, of a radio and television broadcast which developed with an interview with the most significant personalities, Bruno Cavalli and Bruno Magli. The interview with Bruno Cavalli took place within his company and focused on the construction of footwear with interviews also with employees.

Its expansion

The company came to have more than 40 employees, as well as numerous home workers (a very widespread system in those years) and groups of external artisans.

After the sudden death of Bruno Cavalli in September 1968, the company was taken over by his sons Sandro and Paolo who set up a new company. The brand was also registered in numerous foreign countries and this gave a further boost to the production of men's footwear and leather goods, and widened the customer base to include the best European shops and some luxury shops in the United States and in Japan.

The expansion of CAVALLI Calzature into the commercial sector of clothing stores made it participate in the famous Pitti Uomo trade fair from 1981 to 1995 where it stands out for its shoes and bags best quality. Testimony of the great success of those years is given by the weekly "Panorama" which in 1995, comparing the styles of Romano Prodi and Silvio Berlusconi, specifies that the former wears CAVALLI shoes.

Graphic evolution of the brand

Initially the brand was B.CAVALLI in italics accompanied by a figure of a winged horse and the colors gold, green and white; in 1958 the horse was stylized and later, in 1960, the brand became more complex consisting of the patronymic CAVALLI in capital letters, a seal with the wording Hand Made in Italy and the stylized figure of the horse with letters B and C, renovated in 1970.

Holograms

In order to protect licensees from the phenomenon of forgery, it was produced in collaboration with Consul+ Srl, a company leader in the anti-counterfeiting sector, an anti-counterfeiting hologram for each licensed product certifying its validity.
